Can’t Bruising Easily Be a Symptom of Anemia?

Hello Again:

When we find yourself  in a situation where we are discovering new bruises almost every day, we soon learn that there are a variety of medical explanations that can be put forward to explain our bruising.  One of the first medical explanations that we might hear could be that easy bruising can be associated with anemia.   Does easy bruising automatically mean that we should start researching what anemia is and how it might be affecting us?  The fact of the situation is that this can be a difficult question to answer without obtaining some pertinent information to research.

To start with, let’s discuss what anemia really is.  From the most basic perspective, anemia can be defined as a deficiency in the number of red blood cells  in our blood stream, although it may also be defined as a condition where we  simply have less than optimal amounts of hemoglobin in your blood.  It might also refer to other forms of hemoglobin deficiency.  Having anemia means that our body is having difficulty obtaining sufficient oxygen from our lungs to be transmitted to your tissues, and because of the fact that our cells cannot  survive without oxygen, there could be a variety of clinical results that might be applicable.

Anemia is grouped into three main classes; which include excessive blood loss, or a deficiency in red blood cell production, or excessive blood cell loss.  Certain types of anemia are only known to be found along with various other chronic diseases, while sickle cell anemia and aplastic anemia are known for standing alone.  Depending on the severity of the disease and the individual who suffers from it, anemia is very much a disease that can take on a variety of forms.  Iron deficiency or menstrual bleeding can actually cause mild cases of anemia in some people.

With that in mind, do we know why bruising easily is linked to anemia?   Because anemia is a disease that can very easily lead to a reduction in the number of platelets (the things in the blood that help to heal you) in your body  or to problems with your blood clotting, there is an almost certainty that we will experience easy bruising  if anemia is the source of the problem.  Since bruising easily is not the only symptom of anemia, and since we would also need to have pale skin, cognitive problems, rapid heartbeat, chest pain, diarrhea and weight loss that accompanies it, anemia is likely not the reason for our bruising.  Take the time to evaluate exactly what is happening with your body, and if you are still concerned that anemia could be the cause of your bruising easily, you should certainly discuss it with to your doctor.

However, as we know,  easy bruising is also something that occurs as we age and as our bodies get more frail and fragile.  If your bruising is just a normal fact of aging, make sure that you take a close look at the daily Bruises Be Banned program, which is a uniquely formulated, natural means to reduce bruising or prevent bruising altogether.  Remember that the only thing you have to lose by not getting with the Bruises Be Banned program is your social life because of your ugly bruises.
