If we decide that we want to take up a regular walking regimen, we should be congratulated for making such a healthy decision. Walking will help us improve our cardiovascular system, and improve our endurance. We will lose fat while increasing the amount of our muscle mass but, you probably are not aware that our walking routine can also help us to reduce bruising easily as well?

As we get older, we do tend to get more and more inclined to easy bruising.  All of a sudden, we look down and see bruises on our wrists or on our legs and we don’t remember lightly brushing against a kitchen cabinet a few days ago. Our collagen level diminishes as we get older, and our blood vessels become more fragile, leading to bruises that can look quite spectacular in comparison to their modest cause.

Regular exercise should be an important part of anyone’s life, but remember that it can also help us with the bruising easily that we might be encountering. Maybe we are just getting a few small bruises here and there or maybe it feels that every time we turn around there is a new black and blue spot that we have to look at; a good walking program can help us prevent bruising.

Remember that before we start up any new exercise regimen that we should speak to our doctor.  He or she might have recommendations to make regarding how we start and how we should progress.  Good walking shoes are very important, and if at all possible, try to find a good track to walk around, rather than a concrete sidewalk.  Walking on concrete can be surprisingly hard on our body, particularly our knees if we’re not careful.
