Hi Again:

Last time we talked about how some homeopathic medicine treatments might be beneficial in our attempts to prevent bruising.  Today we’ll look at a means we can use to help us reduce bruising by keeping up with our daily activities.

We’ve all experienced the situation where we look down at our arm and notice a new bruise that wasn’t there ten minutes ago.  We try to remember any little bump we might have felt in the area of the bruise, or anything else that might have happened to cause it.  In our busy lives with all of the various things that can lead to easy bruising, it probably becomes pretty frustrating trying to remember everything, particularly from one day to the next.  This is why a daily health diary can become a great personal resource.

We all should get in the habit of consistently carrying a small notebook or daily calendar with us throughout our day.  This notebook doesn’t need to be overly large, although we will probably be entering a lot of information particularly the first few days we use it.  Over time we’ll develop our own form of shorthand which will make our entries relatively smaller.  We will want to consistently enter any information, each day, that effects our body.  As we build up our own personal history, we will begin to see things that we can do or avoid which will help us find ways to overcome our easy bruising.  In a short amount of time, we’ll be entering information as second nature.

If you’re using a simple notebook, you’ll need to date each page, and enter any information that we think may have an affect on our body’s tendency to bruise easily.  One thing that we should be certain that we enter is what we have to eat.  The last several weeks we’ve gone over how various diets can affect our easy bruising, so we should enter not only the types of foods we eat, but how they’re prepared, and how they tasted.  Don’t forget to enter what you have to drink, because caffeine, alcohol, and dairy products all may have a bearing on our bruising.

Another thing that we should document in our diary is our daily activity level.  Did we finish the day exhausted (and more likely to accidentally bump into things), or were we full of energy and awareness.  Did we bump into anything, and did it cause a bruise.  How large is the bruise and where is it located?  You might want to document the time it takes for the bruise to fade away.

Keeping the daily health diary will, over time, show tendencies that may help us reduce bruising by avoiding certain actions or activities.  Of course, if you are already following the Bruises Be Banned daily program, the diary will quickly point out the problem areas to avoid to eliminate that now rare occurrence of bruising.  Remember, the only thing we have to lose is our social life because of ugly bruises if we’re not participating in the Bruises Be Banned program.
