Did You Know That Bruising Easily Can Be Caused By Certain Diet Deficiencies?

We had a discussion in an earlier article about how having a healthy, well balanced diet can help you reduce the frequency of your bruising easily; therefore, there should be no surprise to learn that what you are not eating can also affect your body functions, particularly if what you're missing is necessary to maintain that balanced diet. A deficiency of certain vitamins and minerals can negatively impact your immune system and your body's ability to recover from various injuries, including bruising.

Your well balanced diet should contain vitamin P, which is more generally referenced to as bioflavonoids. A lack of a sufficient amount of bioflavonoids in your diet can cause easy bruising to be prevalent, as well as allow certain other body functional defects. Bioflavonoids can often be found in the yellow pigments of fresh fruits, particularly citrus fruits. From current research, there may be as many as four thousand different types of bioflavonoids.

Performing somewhat like antihistamines, bioflavonoids play an important role in the body's ability to reduce swelling. Besides boosting your body's overall general well being, bioflavonoids are also excellent virus fighters. Bioflavonoids help facilitate your body's ability to recover quickly from injury, because of the support they give your circulatory system. Different from citrus bioflavonoids, bioflavonoids are found in the berries of a low growing family of dark leafed shrubs known as bilberry. Bilberries have been used in herbal remedies for centuries.

Another condition that will impair healthy body functions is a deficiency of vitamin C. One way your body uses vitamin C is to provide a boost to your immune system. In the same way bioflavonoids have an antihistamine effect, vitamin C also helps helps your body recover rapidly from injury and helps reduce swelling. An additional benefit vitamin C provides is the stimulation of your body's production of collagen, which helps keep the skin elastic and minimizes wrinkling as you get older.

Scurvy, the former curse of long distance sailors, is an extreme example of vitamin C deficiency, but even scurvy is easy to cure. All you have to do is go to your local grocery store and load up your shopping cart with plenty of citrus fruits. Oranges, grapefruits, and limes are especially good; and when you eat them raw, it's almost like injecting vitamin C straight into your body's immune system giving it an essential boost. A big glass of fresh orange or grapefruit juice for breakfast will go a long way to furnishing your daily dose of vitamin C.

Another great contributor to circulatory health is vitamin K. If your circulation system is fit and healthy it helps enormously to speed up the body's potential to minimize and recover from any bruising. Vitamin K helps your blood to clot, protects your heart, and is good for bone integrity. It is found in most green, leafy vegetables including spinach, broccoli, and collards. It really helps to minimize bruising, and can even help eradicate it altogether.

Your body's ability to reduce bruising easily is greatly enhanced by sulfur. Without sulfur your body's ability to metabolize carbohydrates would be greatly diminished, and your body's ability to heal rapidly would also be lessened. Since a bruise is caused by injury sustained by your blood vessels, rapid healing of those blood vessels will allow your bruises to disappear quickly. Sulfur is also recommended for arthritis sufferers, and sulfur can be obtained naturally from a pineapple-like plant group called bromelain.

As you can clearly see from the points we have discussed above, deficiencies in certain vitamins, nutrients, and minerals can, and will adversely affect your body's potential to avoid easy bruising. By insuring your vitamin and mineral levels are correctly balanced, you can contribute to less body bruising and faster recovery, and taking a supplemental treatment such as Bruises Be Banned can just give your body that extra edge to coping with and even stopping bruising totally.
